The payment formula needs the right principal
If a lender deducts an origination fee, the nominal principal may not equal the cash the user needs. Payday Hex can solve backwards for the principal required to deliver the target net proceeds, then calculate the payment on that amount.
APR and interest rate should not be mixed casually
APR includes certain fees in addition to the interest rate and is a standard comparison measure. The calculator labels which field the user entered and does not pretend a quoted APR is the same as a simple nominal rate in every formula. CFPB_REGZ
A payment is only useful in context
The calculator’s final step subtracts the payment from residual monthly cash. A lender’s maximum amount or a technically affordable payment under underwriting is not treated as the user’s safe budget maximum.
Exact dates belong in the repayment calendar
For irregular first/last periods or non-monthly schedules, the page routes to the repayment calendar rather than hiding timing assumptions.
